Course Overview

Parenting is not easy, but the health of our children is important. This 120 minute session will help parents to identify and implement strategies to establish healthy habits at home. Drawing from the expertise being brought to Atlanta for Obesity Week, our panelists will increase public awareness about parenting strategies that can help prevent and treat obesity through everyday actions. Panelists include the best investigators and educators working in the area of obesity research, each having expertise in presenting evidence based strategies to the public for their personal implementation. The session will include four 20 minute presentations followed by a moderated panel discussion to answer questions from the audience. The intended audience is the general public, but health care providers, public health officials, and advocates working to support legislative action to increase funding for and access to obesity prevention programs and research will benefit. Sponsored in part by a grant from the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
